DociToci reads site plans, unit plans and sections uploaded as DXF files or PDFs: unit types, rooms, areas, doors and windows, and levels. The Drawings page shows each project's figures and adds up the current revision of each drawing.
The video plays from YouTube when you click it.
Step by step
- Upload your drawings in Documents as DXF files or PDFs. Each one is read when it is indexed; a PDF holding several sheets is read one sheet at a time.
- Open Drawings from the menu. Click Refresh to see drawings read since you opened the page.
- Find your project on the page. Its heading says how many current drawings it has and, from the site plan, how many units of each type there are.
- Read Unit types for each type's number of units, bedrooms and the areas of one unit. The bottom row, All … units, adds up each type's area times its number of units.
- Read Doors and windows for the total of each mark over the same units, and how many there are in each type.
- Click the line … levels, from … at the foot of the project to see each level's use, floor level and floor-to-floor height.
- Type a drawing number or title in Find a drawing by number or title under All drawings.
- Click a drawing to see its rooms, areas, doors and windows, revisions and notes. Older revisions show Replaced by rev … and repeats show Copy; neither is counted in the totals.
- Click Open drawing to see the drawing itself.
Good to know
- Areas stay in the drawing's own units, sq ft or m². A project's totals are in one unit; a type drawn in the other unit is converted at 1 m² = 10.7639 sq ft, and the page says so.
- Nothing is typed in on this page. To correct a figure, fix the drawing and upload it again.
- DWG files are not read. Save them as DXF from your CAD program first.
- Ask AI answers from the same figures, for example "total covered area of all apartments".
