Decide who can open, add to and manage each folder. What a person can open is also what Ask AI can use to answer them.
The video plays from YouTube when you click it.
Step by step
- Open Documents from the menu.
- Point at the folder and click its ⋮ button (More options).
- Choose Access. The Access to box opens and lists who can use the folder now.
- Under Grant access, choose A person or A role.
- Pick the person or role from the Choose... list.
- Tick what they may do: Read, Write, or Delete and manage access.
- Click Grant access. They are added to the list with what they may do.
- Click Remove next to a name to take access away again, and confirm.
- Close the box and check the folder card. Its last line shows who has access, for example Access: you.
Good to know
- A new folder at the top level can be opened only by the person who made it until they give others access. Folders inside it follow its access unless they are given their own.
- Company administrators are not added to private folders automatically. Only the people and roles on the list can open them.
- Mail you connect is synced into your own private folder, named after you and ending in - synced. Only you can read it until you share it here.
- Folders mirrored from SharePoint, OneDrive or Google Drive change only at the source, but who can see them is still decided here.
Who can do this: The person who made the folder, and anyone given Delete and manage access on it. Package: Team and above. Questions? Write to hello@docitoci.com.
